Winter Training is your creative kick-start to the new year!
Taking place across January 2026 and led by joint artistic directors Anna Porubcansky and Ewan Downie, these workshops are based in Company of Wolves’ rigorous and playful body-centred training built on years of investigation into non-hierarchical and collaborative creation.
For our 14th edition, we're offering a new programme of workshops across Glasgow and Edinburgh.
“A totally world-expanding experience. Wonderful, rigorous, and gloriously focused on the human.”
Body-Voice-Play
We are running this workshop twice -- once in Edinburgh and once in Glasgow:
Wed 14 - Fri 16 January 2026, 10am-4:30pm @ EDINBURGH OPEN WORKSHOP
with Ewan Downie
Mon 19 - Wed 21 January 2026, 10am-4:30pm @ CITIZENS THEATRE GLASGOW
with Anna Porubcansky and Ewan Downie
Body-Voice-Play is a workshop about how we play, both together and alone; how we can be present with ourselves and with others. We'll awaken our bodies, voices and imaginations to free creativity, develop confidence and resilience, and build connections with other people. This is open to anyone interested in the company’s work. In the past we’ve welcomed community workers, teachers, writers, administrators, dancers, musicians and therapists to our workshops as well as theatre-makers, writers, actors and artists of all sorts. Expect to smile and sweat!
Making Together: Collaborative Creation
Thurs 22 – Sat 24 January 2026, 10am-4:30pm @ CITIZENS THEATRE GLASGOW
with Anna Porubcansky and Ewan Downie
Over the course of this workshop, we will make messy performance material and practice sharing it to each other -- through this, we’ll investigate how to inspire and be inspired, how to say yes and when to say no, in addition to examining the role of the director, exploring different ways to give feedback, and building our own voices and visions as creative artists. Expect the strange, the beautiful, the absurd and the profound — sometimes all at the same time!
**Please note, some performance experience required for this workshop.
"An inquisitive and non-judgemental workshop providing a perfect start to the new year.”
“It is a gift to work with leaders who truly understand and facilitate their craft, and work with such openness and beauty.”
