Company of Wolves are excited to announce our first weekly training group!
Designed for those with some experience of performance, theatre, or movement work, the group will meet on five consecutive Thursdays, working with co-artistic directors Anna Porubcansky and Ewan Downie to train together and learn new skills in a supportive, joyful and process-focused environment.
Each week we’ll focus on different ways to explore movement, voice, and imagination, freeing creativity, developing confidence and resilience, and re-establishing connections between people in a rigorous and playful way. By waking up the body, we train to access a greater awareness, sense of mindfulness, and freedom that can be applied both in performance and in daily life.
This group is open to anyone interested in the company’s work, and in investigating embodiment, creativity and connection. It builds on our hugely popular annual Winter Training, which always sells out, and responds to frequently-expressed demand for a regular ongoing training opportunity. We are open to participants at different levels of experience, whether you’ve studied performance/movement in a participatory context, through degree studies, or are a professional performer.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our training practices involve medium to high physical engagement, and include a wide range of activities such as mindfulness practices, dynamic movement work, solo, partner and group exercises. Training can include running, breath and vocal work, group singing, play and improvisation, and other body-centred exercises.
Over the five weeks, we will practically explore participants’ own connections between mind and body whilst building working relationships in an ensemble context, developing tools that you can take into your own practice.
We endeavour to make our workshops as accessible as possible. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
HOW TO APPLY AND FEES
Please use this online form to tell us a bit about yourself, and why you want to be involved in the training:

Subsidised: £75 (£15 per session)
