On 10 June we ran the 2024 edition of the Scottish Small-Scale Touring Forum (still working on a more glamorous name!) at Kinning Park Complex.
30 creatives came together to meet and talk about the challenges and joys of touring small-scale performance in Scotland, and to look at ways we can support each other in these challenging times. This year, we were joined by Dominic Hill, Artistic Director of the Citizens Theatre, who gave us an update about plans for the new building.
It was lovely to see familiar faces and meet new people, and just being in a room together helped us remember and share why we do this thing we love (even when it’s hard) and how we can work together to do it better.
Thanks to everyone who came and made it such a special day. The general consensus was that we need to run a space like this every six months, so look out for the next edition in November 2025, and keep your eyes open for full documentation of the event which will be available as soon as we've managed to pull it all together.
Special thanks to Stephen Greer, from University of Glasgow, for skillfully facilitating such a generous and supportive room.
