Introducing our two Theatre Maker Placements for 2026, Nina Marianne Scott and Cara Watson!
Nina and Cara joined the team in June, and and will be working closely with the company until the end of January 2027. During their time with us, they are shadowing the company, getting advice and mentoring, taking part in our workshops and trainings, contributing to research & development on new Company of Wolves work, in addition to shaping their own plans for work in the future. We're looking forward to working with them both in the upcoming months!
Nina Marianne Scott (they/them) is an award-winning multidisciplinary theatre-maker, liberatory facilitator specialising in Theatre of the Oppressed, choir leader and lecturer in Theatre for Social Change based in Glasgow. Their practice spans community and political theatre, devising, music, queer ecology, liberatory pedagogy and collaborative performance-making.
For the past fifteen years, Nina has led community arts projects and facilitated transformative training for artists and activists, developing creative tools that centre participation, dialogue and collective authorship. Alongside making theatre, they teach on the BA Theatre for Social Change programme at Rose Bruford College and facilitate with Ulex activist training and grassroots organising groups.
Their current project, Be More Mushroom, is a queer ecological musical and wider community arts project inspired by what fungi can teach us about what is considered 'natural' and why. They have just had a corresponding chapter published in a Queer Flora, Fauna and Funga (Valiz Press, 2026). Nina is particularly interested in the intersection of ambitious aesthetics, political storytelling and collaborative practice, creating work that is both formally inventive and deeply rooted in community.

Cara Watson is an actor, playwright and theatre-maker from Fife. Her work is tied in nature, heritage and folklore, confronting themes of misogyny, landscape and empowering often overlooked narratives. Cara recently graduated with an MSc in Playwriting from the University of Edinburgh. She has since been commissioned by Strange Town Theatre, and recently received support from Creative Scotland and the Royal Lyceum Theatre to develop her debut play, CULL, a new environmental folk horror.
Cara is also co-founder of Untie My Tongue Theatre, a new writing company producing works that are inquisitive, current and dark. They are currently developing two projects and will be heading into an R&D for a new play this September.
Having worked mostly as an actor, she is looking forward to learning the fundamentals of making theatre yourself. During her placement, she’ll be working on artistic voice and development, creating and producing her own work, and managing a theatre company.
