This May we completed our inaugural Labs: a paid advanced training programme for theatre-makers in Scotland. We were blown away by the response, receiving 100 applications for only eight places.
This year’s Lab took place over four days, where we trained together, read and dissected the play, and began to dig into the movement, sound and image world of ancient Greece. We were joined by Dr. Michael Carroll from the School of Classics at the University of St Andrews, who brought into the room his extensive knowledge and passion for ancient Greek literature. It was eye-opening, challenging, and helped us begin to understand just how powerful and unique this body of work is. It also became abundantly clear to us that four days is not long enough! We hope to be coming back to this material, and to Labs, again in the future.
Huge thanks to everyone who took part, for your curiosity and generosity.
