Being Human Festival

3rd September 2015

In November 2015, Ewan performed a work-in-progress of his solo, Achilles, at the Being Human Festival of the Humanities.  He also taught a workshop for artists and performers as part of the 'All in a Fankle' workshop series at the CCA.

“All in A Fankle: Workshopping Exuberant Failure”

A series of workshops run as a part of the Being Human Festival, November 2015

Brief:

This is a call for artists and performers across all disciplines who want to push themselves and their work into uncomfortable places and to be willing to fail in the attempt to do so – all in the company of artists attempting the same processes.

What’s on Offer:

3 days of workshops run by Rachel McCrum, Ewan Downie, Clare Duffy and Elizabeth Reeder, and a chance to perform your work at the CCA.

When and where is it happening?

13 and 14 of November 2015: We’ll be running two full days of workshops at the CCA with a group of 12-14 makers (artists, writers, performers).

20 November: an informal sharing of the work that’s been made, with the option to perform at the CCA this evening.

Who are we looking for:

If you’re in the midst of a project or process and you’re grappling with how to solve a problem or how to shake yourself up a bit;

If you’re wanting to figure out what to jettison or what to add or how to fix a block;

If you’re interested in workshops that take you way out of your comfort zone, perhaps towards catastrophic failure;

then this is a call for you.
