Description
Using traditional song, soundscape, myth and movement, Unbecoming is a dreamworld, a rich and sublime space where image, memory, desire and fear all rewoman unravel, layer upon layer stripped away; a human, unmasked.
How much of what we are is what we’ve chosen to be?
After an initial small tour in 2018, our redeveloped version of Unbecoming now tours extensively across Scotland over Autumn 2022 and Spring 2023, supported by Creative Scotland’s Touring Fund.

Reviews
Genuinely powerful … a captivating portrait of a woman caught in the dissonance of contradictory desires
Anna Porubcansky’s… looping and overlaying of recorded layers and real-time vocalisings echoed the complex layers of a woman caught in a swithering vortex of choices and desires
Porubcansky cleverly weaves the narrative in a hypnotic way, using beautiful, crystal-clear vocals in a traditional song, and mesmeric movement … an original and entrancing performance
Extremely powerful
True eye opener. I didn’t know theatre could do this
The text was everything that goes through my head! I loved it.
